Beaded crown

This is an inexpensive crown to make for your princess (or prince). It’s also great to make for birthday party favors.

What you will need:

1 plain thin headband (available at most grocery or drug stores in the hair-care aisle)
3 pipe cleaners
80 assorted pony beads

Wrap a pipe cleaner around the headband about halfway up one side. Thread seven beads onto the pipe cleaner.

After the last bead, wrap the pipe cleaner around the headband twice. Repeat this process until you have four sections of seven beads. You can then shape the beads to make little arches.

Take another pipe cleaner and wrap one end onto the headband between where the first and second arches meet. Add 15 beads to the pipe cleaner. After the last bead, wrap the pipe cleaner between where the second and third arches meet.

Add 15 more beads and then wrap the end of the pipe cleaner between the third and fourth arches. Now take the last pipe cleaner and wrap an end onto the headband inside the second arch. Thread 22 beads onto it and the wrap around the inside of the third arch.

Play with the beads and arches until you get them to look the way you want. Cut off any excess pipe cleaner. You can add glue to keep them in place.
