Free developmental screenings for ages 3 to 5

The goal of a developmental screening is to make sure a child has the necessary skills to be ready for kindergarten.

Arizona Literacy and Learning Center will conduct free developmental screenings for children ages 3 to 5 next month at two Valley locations.

Children will be screened in the areas of hearing, vision, speech/language, motor, concepts, self-help skills, social skills and pre-literacy. The purpose of a screening is not to diagnose but to identify a child’s strengths and needs. Trained professionals look for  appropriate development in each area and identify the need for further evaluation or monitoring. The goal is to make sure the child has the necessary skills to enter kindergarten.

The screenings are free but appointments are required. Screenings are available in both English & Spanish. Call 602-212-1089  ext 201 to schedule an appointment. For more information, visit azliteracy.org.
