What do teachers do during the summer? All the things they didn’t have time for during the school year.
During the entire month of July, Arizona educators can visit the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Scottsdale for free. This includes all Arizona K-12 teachers, registered student teachers, teacher’s aides and administrators. Educators should bring their school or district ID. Homeschool educators can show their affidavit of intent.
The MIM’s collection is so vast it might be worth going several times during Educator Appreciation Month.
July 28, 29 and Aug. 25 are Educator Preview Days — a chance to see what the MIM will offer for the 2012-13 school year. Preview days will include a performance by Tetra, one of the 2012-13 artists-in-residence. Refreshments, time in the galleries and information on the various options for school tours will be provided.
Register in advance for the Educator Preview Days at education@themim.org.
