The PCH center opens for business today for specialty and urgent care. Patients can make appointments to see the specialists they normally see at the main hospital on Thomas Road. Specialty care is offered 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday, by appointment only.
Urgent care services will be provided by physicians and nurses with training in emergency and pediatric medicine. Urgent care hours are 5 to 11pm Monday through Friday and noon to 11pm Saturday and Sunday. No appointment is necessary for urgent care services.
Urgent care is less expensive than an emergency room visit and patients typically experience a shorter waiting time to be seen by a doctor or nurse. Try this link to help decide whether urgent care or an emergency room visit is appropriate.
The schedule for specialists will vary depending on demand. Specialists in Cardiology,
Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurology, Orthopaedics/Sports Medicine, Pulmonology, Speech Therapy and Urology will offer services at the Scottsdale Center.
PCH has two other centers open in the Valley. East Valley Center at Southern and Higley in Mesa and Northwest Valley Center at 51st Ave., north of Loop 101. Another center is planned to open in January 2013 in Avondale at 99th Ave.
