Donations of food, gently used shoes, earn you a ticket to the Children’s Museum of Phoenix

Phoenix-area Ford dealerships are collecting donations of non-perishable food to nourish local families in need and gently used shoes of any size to be sent to the 1.2 billion people in Third World Countries who often go barefoot.

“Ford Operation Goodwill Phoenix” is a team effort involving Ford Motor Company, the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance and Walk Away Barefoot . The drive continues through Nov. 18.

The Children’s Museum of Phoenix is providing one free general admission ticket to each person who donates three nonperishable food items or one gently used pair of shoes. Tickets must be redeemed during the month of December 2012.

As part of the Phoenix campaign, Ford Motor Company is sponsoring “Ford Technology & Innovation Month” at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix during December. In addition to the interactive exhibits at the museum, activities and programs will be themed around technology and innovation, and will reflect the enterprising spirit of Henry Ford.

Ford’s goal is to collect 10,000 pounds of food and 500 pairs of shoes. The company encourages service-related organizations like Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, churches, schools and other groups to get involved.
