April fun runs across the Valley

Laura’s Run (Sat Apr 8). Join the 10K, 5K, 1-mile fun run/walk, Doggie Trot or Kids Dash, benefiting the Laura Burdick Foundation, which helps families of transplant recipients at the Norton Thoracic Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. Run the Runway (Sat Apr 8). Take in the view from the Scottsdale Airport runway with a 15K, 10K, 5K or Kids 1-Mile Mascot Dash. Then, land an afternoon of fun and entertainment at the post-race festival. Money raised benefits Playworks Arizona, an organization dedicated to ending playground bullying. 6:30am. $14-$60. Take Steps Walk for Crohn’s and Colitis (Sat Apr 8). This is the largest fundraiser for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, benefiting patient programs and research for cures to digestive diseases. 7-10am. Free. The Phoenix Zoo, 455 N. Galvin Parkway. 602-734-1392 or cctakesteps.org

D-Backs Race Against Cancer (Sun Apr 9). The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation host its annual Race Against Cancer 5K and 1-Mile Banana Boat Family Fun Walk. Participants can take a victory lap around the Chase Field ball diamond and enjoy the post-race interactive wellness zone. The Hope Run (Sat Apr 15).  Walk or run in honor of all domestic violence survivors in the 5K and 1-mile walk/run. Bring a gift card to donate and get a chance to win a fabulous prize. 7am. $5-$35. Freestone Park, 1045 E. Juniper Rd, Gilbert. thehoperun.com

Bubble Run (Sat Apr 22). Don’t live in a bubble — run through some! Adults, kids and strollers are invited to run, walk, dance or frolic in the 5K Bubble Run. Foam will cover you from head to toe, so be sure to wear a white shirt. 8am. $50; free for ages 4 and younger with paid adult registration. Pat’s Run (Sat Apr 22). This is the Pat Tillman Foundation’s main event to support military veterans and their spouses through academic scholarships. Honor Pat’s legacy by running in the 4.2-mile run or the .42-mile run/walk for ages 12 and younger. Finish inside Sun Devil Stadium for a post-race party. 7am. $50. ASU Campus, 219 S. JDRF Rock and Run 5K (Sat Apr 29). This is an inaugural run for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Desert Southwest Chapter to help raise funds and awareness for Type 1 diabetes.
