MESA – Sonoran Safari at i.d.e.a. Museum
Thursday, March 8, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
The i.d.e.a. Museum of Mesa hosts “Sonoran Safari,” an exhibit exploring the artistic landscape of the world’s 11th largest desert — the only place where saguaro cactus grows in the wild. Through art and hands-on activities, guests learn about native plants, animals, reptiles and birds.
Young artists and explorers can investigate the inside of a cactus, explore the desert at night in a black-light room, build a wildflower wall, write desert poetry, play games that address safety in extreme desert environments and more. Activities incorporate STEAM concepts. Exhibit runs Tuesday-Sunday through May 27. $9; free for babies younger than 1. i.d.e.a. Museum, 150 W. Pepper Place, Mesa. 480-644-2468 or ideamuseum.org
