Children: Mylan (16) and Solvay (11).
Pets: Three dogs (Bonnie, Lenny & Squiggy), three cats (Billy Jack, Macaroni & Cheese [they're tabby-cat brothers]), a blue-front Amazon parrot
(Beaker), three cockatiels (Buddy, Daisy and Iago), a sun conure (Elson), a green cheek conure (Bisbee), lots of lovebirds, lots of finches (Zebra and Society).
When I'm not at work I enjoy: Taking care of pets, stained glass, cooking, knitting.
Favorite food: Anything chocolate.
Favorite thing to do with my family: Little road trips around the state.
Favorite things to do by myself: Watch TV when everyone else is asleep.
Most people don't know this about me: After only having been camping once before in my life, I went on a nine-day canoe trip on the Green
River in Utah with my (then new) husband and one other couple and didn't see another person the whole time &mdash it was one of the most amazing times I've
ever had!
What I love most about Arizona: The desert after it rains.
How I came to Raising Arizona Kids: I started as a freelance writer (Going Places with Generation "Why?" column) and then started
working in the office part-time; that has evolved to my current position.
What I love most about my job: The information we provide monthly to readers can help with their parenting "journey" and when someone
calls in with a problem/question, I can help them or give them the resources to get help.
