SUSD high school theater students honored

May 21, 2008. Outstanding high school theater students from the Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) were honored at the inaugural Center Stage Awards at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts on May 21. Modeled after the American Theater Wing's Tony Awards, the Center Stage Awards recognize excellence in SUSD high school theater departments. A judging panel comprised of members of the Valley theater community attended productions entered by participating high schools and voted on the nominees, who represent Arcadia, Chaparral, Desert Mountain and Saguaro high schools. Professional actors, theater directors and arts leaders from throughout the Valley presented the awards to the students.
