Team Arizona Soccer headed to National Games

Team Arizona Soccer

March 31, 2010 — The Special Olympic Unified Soccer team from Raymond S. Kellis High School in Glendale will be representing Team Arizona at the National Games this summer. The games, which are run like the Olympics, are being held in Lincoln, Neb. from July 17-24.

The Unified team, coached by Amy Kubo, Michael Wakeford and student coach Cristian Armenta, consists of seven Special Olympic Athletes and five Partners (typical student peers). The team includes Arthur Moreno, Tommy Lerma, Mark Payan, Stephan Linthicum, Carlee Scott, Jeffery Anthony and alternate Chris Greene.

The Partners include: Kyle Jackson, Nicole Cabrera, Francisco Rangel, Anthony Eberhardt and alternate Israel Mendez.

To attend the National Games, the team must attend local fundraising events and a team-building weekend in Prescott and must raise $15,000. Support Team Arizona Soccer.
