The 2020 Arizona State Fair has been cancelled because of the pandemic, leaving fair food fans without their annual calorie-laden fix. In yet another example of pandemic creativity, a workaround has been announced: The most popular fair foods will be available at a Drive Thru Fair Food event running from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, through Oct. 25 (excluding Saturday, Oct. 24). Good to know: The cancellation of the 2020 Arizona State Fair also dramatically affected St. Mary’s Food Bank, which typically receives about 100,000 pounds of food annually from the Arizona State Fair “We Care Wednesday” Food Drive. To help, the Arizona State Fair is encouraging visitors to the Fair Food Drive Thru to bring non-perishable food items for donation.
