Harkins Theatres celebrates the life of beloved actor Chadwick Boseman by featuring films from some of his most memorable roles. Special showings of Boseman’s films run at 1 and 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday at select Harkins Theatres. Tickets are $5 each and all proceeds will benefit cancer research.
Boseman, best known for his role as T'Challa in the blockbuster "Black Panther," died of colon cancer on Friday, Aug. 28. He was 43.
“I was fortunate to have met Chadwick Boseman. He was a true Hollywood icon with an extremely bright future, he will be greatly missed,” says Dan Harkins, Owner of Harkins Theatres, in a statement. “We are proud to honor his memory through film and to help support a charity fighting to end cancer.”
The featured films include:
"42" (PG-13) - A 2013 biographical film about Jackie Robinson, the first black athlete to play in Major League Baseball.
"21 Bridges" (R) - A 2019 American action thriller starring Boseman as an NYPD detective who shuts down the 21 bridges of Manhattan to find two suspected cop killers.
"Get on Up" (PG-13) - A 2014 American biographical musical drama about the life of singer James Brown
