Arizona’s track and field programs offer a myriad of opportunities for athletes of all shapes, sizes and abilities. The season for this high-energy, low-equipment club sport typically begins in January; some programs offer year-round training for high school-age athletes.

METRO-PHOENIX AREA

Arizona Elite Track & Field

Training, coaching and USATF competition opportunities for athletes ages 6 and older. Participation in state, regional and national competitions. January-July season with practice held at Desert Vista High School in Ahwatukee. May-July off-season high school only training schedule. $350 competitive team membership fee, $200 training-only memebership fee, $160 high-school off-season training fee. Fees do not include USATF dues.

Arizona Flames Track Club

USATF-sanctioned track and field youth club for athletes ages 5 and older. Runners compete in invitational, state, regional, national and world championships plus Junior Olympics and WMA. January-July season with practice located at Westwood High School in Mesa. Training also available for pole vault, high jump, hammer, discus, long jump and more.

Arizona Puma Track & Field

Official USATF club for athletes ages 14-19. Specializes in prep-level development and collegiate programs. Competes in regulation USATF AZ and Jr. Olympic championships, regionals and national meets. $205 registration and club membership fee. Practices held at Glendale Community College. May-July season.

Arizona Rising Suns Track & Field Club

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) and USATF-sanctioned club offering competitive and training opportunities for ages 5-18. Regional, national and international competitions. $250 club membership fee. January-July season with practices held at Cactus Park in Phoenix. Pre-season (November) practice option available for $50 with cost deducted from club membership fee.

Arizona Track and Field Academy

Coaching, training and camps for ages 6-18 in competitive track, sprint, long distance and more. Official USATF-sanctioned club participates in regional meets. High school program designed for off-season conditioning. Also offers training in shot-put, high jump, long jump, discus, pole vault, javelin, triathlon and pentathlon.

Competitive training for cross country, road racing and distance-only races on the track for ages 10-14. Official USATF club participating in state, regional and national competition. Club offers a free, no obligation 2 week trial. $150 club participation fee not including USATF online membership fee. Multiple practice locations.

Phoenix Bobcats Track and Field Club

USATF-sanctioned club offering year-round training in track and field for all ages. Athletes participate in USATF National Junior Olympic Championships. January-July competitive season with off-season clinic offered September-December. Practices held at Paradise Community College. $500 registration and club membership fee includes USATF dues. $250 clinic fee.

A USATF-sanctioned non-profit running club for ages 9-18.  The team runs twice a week, year round, and includes children and teens of all levels and abilities.  Athletes run cross country, road races, track and triathlons and compete in Junior Olympic state, regional and national meets.
