Position at RAK: Sales & Marketing Manager
Academic background: Graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in communications.
What did you do before you came to RAK? My first career out of college was in marketing at Milgard Windows in Sacramento, California. I left Milgard to stay home with my kids, which I did for about six years while taking on a few things here and there.
Originally from: Born in Palatine, Illinois, lived in Sacramento, California for eight years and have been in the Valley on and off for 22 years.
Spouse/kids/pets: My husband, Brian, works in construction management for Sundt. Most recently he was working on the new stadium at Arizona State University. When he’s not working he loves mountain biking. My son Gunnar is going into sixth grade; he loves football and BMX. Taylor is going into fifth grade and she just made the gymnastics team at her gym. Enzo is a super-sweet, slightly hyper-active black lab and Rusty is an ornery cat that yells at me almost daily!
Favorite thing to do when I have some time to myself: I enjoy running, cooking, reading, going to Orange Theory Fitness and hanging out with friends and family.
Most people don’t know this about me: I’m an open book. I don’t have many secrets.
What I love most about Arizona: I love the beautiful desert and the great weather we have, most of the year.
How do you like to spend your time away from work?: Most of my time away from work is spent with family and friends.
So you love running? I wouldn’t say I “love” it, but I do it. It always feels great when I am done with a run and can log my miles. My husband and I both try to sign up for a few races a year to keep us motivated to get out there and do it.
What’s the best meal you’ve ever had? It was pork tenderloin at Enotria Cafe in Sacramento. I remember it being one of the best pieces of meat I have ever had.
What’s the best gift you’ve ever given (or received)? I remember one year for Valentine’s day my husband asked what I wanted. I told him to make me something. So he wrote a slightly corny poem that resembled “Roses are red, Violets are blue” on pink construction paper, which he cut into a heart and then glued onto red construction paper. Corny or not, I still love the thought that went into making it!
In everyday life, what is your number one pet peeve? Tardiness, I really hate to be late and have to bite my tongue when others are late
Favorite Valley hangout/hot spot: Our new favorite place is Arizona Wilderness Brewery. The beer is great and the food is even better. I can’t get enough of their Chicken Jalapeno Popper burger.
Last book you read, movie you liked, TV show you binge-watched: I love The Real Housewives, all of them. The women scream, yell and fight with each other, but I can’t get enough.
Meet the rest of the RAK staff.
