Fun runs and walks are great ways to celebrate fitness or support a good cause. Here are upcoming options that welcome kids and families.

Walk With Me (March 28). This one-mile family fun walk presented by the Arizona Coyotes Foundation benefits Southwest Human Development’s Easterseals disabilities services. Participation helps make a difference in the lives of Arizona’s youngest children with disabilities and their families. Enjoy activities for adults and kids of all ages, food, drinks, games and crafts at Scottsdale Civic Center Park. Superhero 5K (March 28). Don your superhero gear and run/walk for Put on the Cape: A Foundation for Hope! Plus: music, booths and games at Steele Indian School Park to benefit child victims of abuse, neglect and trauma throughout the Valley. Phoenix Heart Walk (March 28). Kick-start your heart with a 3-mile or 1-mile noncompetitive race, bringing awareness to heart disease and stroke. Proceeds go to the American Heart Association. Strollers and leashed dogs allowed. The Heart Healthy Festival during the run offers health screenings, educational booths, live bands and a kids zone in downtown Phoenix. JDRF One Walk (April 4). This 3-mile walk for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Desert Southwest Chapter is raising funds and awareness for Type 1 diabetes. Donations accepted. 9 a.m. Sloan Park, 2330 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Mesa. jdrf.org Laura’s Run (April 4). Join the 10K, 5K, 1-mile fun run/walk, Doggie Trot or Kids Dash benefiting the Laura Burdick Foundation, which helps families of transplant recipients at the Norton Thoracic Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. Groove to live music, enter raffle prizes and enjoy family festivities. 8-10 a.m. $25-$45. Kiwanis Park, 6111 S. The largest race in Arizona dedicated solely to pediatric cancer celebrates its 10th anniversary with a new location: Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. The event features a 7 a.m. 10K run, a 7:45 a.m. 5K run/walk and a free 9 a.m. Cancer Hero Walk to honor children who have fought, are fighting or have defeated cancer. A post-race festival features music, vendor booths and family activities. $35-$45. runtofightcancer.com  Team Taylor Family Fun Run (April 5). Founded to honor the memory of Taylor Cosmas and other infants who have died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, this annual Arcadia 5K raises money for SIDS research at Boston Children’s Hospital and safe-sleep education programs around Arizona. 8-10 a.m. $45. Registration in the OHSO parking lot. Race begins at 48th Street and the canal in Phoenix. runsignup.com Be My Hero 5K (April 5). All proceeds from this 5K run/walk support local firefighters.
