With Valentine’s Day coming up on Feb. 14, cities around the state have chosen to celebrate the magic of chocolate. Here’s where to indulge: Art of Chocolate A’Fair in Gilbert (Jan. 31-Feb. 2). Indulge in artisan chocolates and confections, shop for gifts and enjoy live entertainment and food trucks on the Great Lawn at Gilbert Town Hall. Flagstaff Chocolate Walk (Feb. 1). Enjoy a chocolate-tasting adventure in downtown Flagstaff! Get a stamp for your chocolate passport at each tasting location and collect points to win a grand prize. Bisbee Chocolate Tasting (Feb. 8). Help support the Friends of the Copper Queen Library at this annual fundraiser. Chocolates are donated by local bakers and candy makers, including high school culinary arts students. The tasting coincides with “Second Saturday” for Bisbee After Five, so you can shop and eat at local restaurants. The Chocolate Experience (Feb. 8-9). Chocolate takes center stage at this delectable annual celebration — formerly Glendale Chocolate Affaire — in downtown Glendale. Taste chocolates from dozens of vendors and enjoy live entertainment, activities and factory tours of Cerreta Candy Co. Nearby restaurants offer special menus. Chocolate Lovers Special (Feb. 14-16). Chocolate lovers will find delights on the Verde Canyon Railroad. The special train ride starting in Clarkdale boasts tasty chocolate pastries, cakes and more. Dip fruit, pretzels or marshmallows into free-flowing chocolate fountains while enjoying the beautiful Verde Canyon scenery. Sweets Festival (Feb. 15) is a sugar lover’s dream come true in Gilbert. Enjoy all sorts of sweet-themed family fun — from bouncers to spinning berries, photo opportunities, crafts and more.
