Hop in and Join Us for Children’s Day at the Japanese Friendship Garden!
Celebrate Kodomo no Hi (Children’s Day), a cherished Japanese tradition, on 4/20 from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Japanese Friendship Garden.
This event is FREE for children ages 0-6 and members!
General, $15 / $17 at Gate, and Youth 7-17, $13 / $15 at Gate
Kodomo no Hi is a day dedicated to honoring children’s happiness and well-being.
Families celebrate by flying colorful Koinobori carp streamers and displaying Hina Dolls and Kokeshi Dolls—symbols of joy and festivity in Japanese culture.
Join us for a day packed with exciting activities for children and families of all ages!
From Easter egg and kokeshi-doll painting and hands-on crafts like origami, there’s something for everyone!
You can also create your own Japanese dry garden or dress up in a yukata to experience traditional Japanese culture firsthand.
Throughout the day, enjoy amazing performances, including dances by the Nakayoshi Japanese Kids Club and the thrilling Shinobi Ranger Show.
It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate and immerse your family in the rich traditions of Japan!
