Compassion Day Camp for Kids with Paiute Mission Project

North Scottsdale United Methodist Church (NSUMC) is excited to introduce Compassion Camp, a vibrant summer camp experience for children, running from June 23-27, 2025, at 11735 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. This engaging camp will feature a special mission project in collaboration with the Paiute Family Resource Center in South Scottsdale, focusing on collecting diapers to support local families in need.

Families can choose between two camp options:

• Morning Session: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM for $50, featuring yoga, mindfulness, exploration, and nature-based activities.
• Extended-Day Session: 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM for $200, which will include these additional experiences; science experiments, physical education, gardening, meditation, and hands-on mission projects.

Campers will enjoy an enriching lineup of activities, including yoga, self-regulation exercises, Godly Play scripture stories, crafts, science, gardening, and music. The camp will be facilitated by NSUMC’s dedicated volunteer staff, Godly Play-trained instructors, and a professional yoga instructor, ensuring a safe and inspiring environment for all participants.

The heart of Compassion Camp is the Diaper Mission Project, where campers can contribute by donating diapers or $20 to benefit the Paiute Family Resource Center. This effort emphasizes the value of generosity and ensures families in South Scottsdale have essential supplies for their young children.

Rev. Christopher Wurpts, Lead Pastor at NSUMC, shared, “Compassion Camp is about planting seeds of compassion in young hearts towards self and others. Through the Diaper Mission Project, we’re empowering kids to see that even small actions can make a big difference.”

Kids! Come expand your science, gardening, breathing, crafting, games and yoga techniques and

learn about the joy that comes from "loving kindness" for yourself and those around you.

North Scottsdale United Methodist Church celebrates the love of God through Christ by offering a 10AM ONLINE and in-person service on Sunday. Sunday school is available in-person and online @ www.nsumckids.info. They have children and youth activities including; children’s choir, volleyball, mission trips, small groups, festivals and youth groups. N.S.U.M.C. also offers ONLINE and in-person adult Bible studies, men and women’s groups.
