Description

Grab your flashlight and get your glow on! Experience the desert after dark with hands-on activities, live dance and musical performances, cool treats, a farmers’ market and more. Perfect for a “cool” summer date night or family adventure. Included with general admission (but reservations are required): $14.95 adults, $9.95 children, free for ages 3 and younger and free for members. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 N. A bar is available and accepts only credit and debit payment. Gertrude’s Restaurant is open until 8 p.m., last seating at 7:30 p.m. The Garden Shop is open until 8 p.m.

Help the Garden create a community chalk mural! Grab glow-in-the-dark chalk and join artist Lisa Brethour in creating a mural inspired by the beauty of the Sonoran Desert.

Free Children’s Books Station
New this year! Visit the children’s book station in Cohn Tour Gathering Area. Grab a book as you leave and let it take you on a great summer adventure

Mesquite Pitch Paint
Have you ever used nature-made paint? Learn about natural inks such as mesquite pitch paint and use it to create a necklace or bracelet.

Nighttime Farmer’s Market | Jul. 16, 30 Aug. 13, 27 & Sep. 3
Don’t leave Flashlight Nights empty-handed! Enjoy a nighttime farmers’ market on selected nights, stocked full of fresh, locally grown produce, local honey, handmade soaps and from vendors and farmers from  Spaces of Opportunity.

Cactus Kids Club is ready to explore and have some summer fun. Join us on a micro-adventure to discover the hidden wonders of the desert at night.

Immerse yourself in the movement and storytelling of American Indian Hoop Dance by Scott Sinquah.

Maya Nell | July 23 | 7 & 8 p.m.
Listen to Maya Nell perform music and poetry connected to their rural Kentucky and Ugandan Mutooro roots.

Harmony Project Orquesta Juvenil | Jul. 30, Aug. 13, Sep. 3 | 7 & 8 p.m.
Experience Harmony Project Orquesta Juvenil, an ensemble of talented youth of Latin American origin performing delightful orchestral tunes.

Primavera Folklorico | August 6 | 7 & 8 p.m.
Primavera promises to display an exhilarating, lively and vivacious performance with an array of colorful costumes, dances and music that embody and embrace Mexican folklore and culture!

Great Arizona Puppet Theatre | August 20 | 7 & 8 p.m.
This environmental award-winning show features stories about endangered species in Arizona – including the Arizona ridge-nosed rattlesnake, the California condor, Sanborn’s long-nose bat, and desert tortoise.

Ollin Yoliztili | August 27 | 7 & 8 p.m.
“Ollin Yoliztli” means “Life & Movement” in the Mexican language of Nahuatl. The name reflects the life and happiness that the artists wish to transmit to the world through Mexican culture, art and tradition.
