Description
Throughout July, the following individuals receive free general admission to MIM with appropriate documentation:
- PreK–12 teachers
- School and district administrators, principals
- Registered student teachers
- Homeschool educators
- Private music teachers with five or more students under 18
Accepted verification includes a school ID, fingerprint clearance card, affidavit of intent, ESA documentation, or professional music teaching credentials (e.g., a business card, professional society membership, or studio website).
Plus, 10% Discounts at MIM
Educators also receive a 10% discount on most items at the Museum Store and in Beats Coffee Bar® and Café Allegro (excluding alcohol). Verification is required at time of purchase.
Free Professional Development: Music PLUS Series
From July 8–11, MIM is offering free two-hour workshops for educators as part of our Music PLUS Series: Summer Professional Development. These engaging sessions explore how music connects to core curriculum subjects like math, history, geography, and technology.
Each session includes:
- A hands-on classroom-ready lesson led by a MIM educator
- A guided tour of the galleries
Free Access to July Programs
All July public programs are included with general admission and therefore free for participating educators, including:

- MIM Talks: Music and Healing Around the World | Tue., July 15
- Spotlight Series: Spotlight on Drumming and Dance | Sat., July 19
