Peoria libraries are celebrating the launch of this year's summer reading program, "A Universe of Stories," with a Kickoff Party at the Main Library. Face painting, space-themed crafts and snacks, a space costume contest and a Darth Vader piñata. Prizes will be awarded for the costume contest, so be sure to come dressed up as your favorite space-themed character from "Star Wars," "Star Trek," "Guardians of the Galaxy," etc. 1-3 p.m. at Peoria Main Library, 8463 W.
