Food Day is celebrated to inspire people to change the way we look at food, personally and collectively. Since 2019, the Junior League of Phoenix has partnered with the City of Phoenix to add a Healthfest feature to the event, making it Phoenix Food Day & Healthfest. Last year, this included health screenings, child and adult fitness activities, and giveaways.

This year, the event will pivot to a combination drive-thru and virtual event. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, goody bags for adults and school-aged children will be distributed at the Cartwright Community Garden & District Offices. Drive-thru and receive your bags filled with gift cards, prizes, recipes, gardening kits, health and wellness vouchers and kids activity kits. There will be special prize giveaways included in some lucky​ households' bags!
