Peach yogurt cake

peaches½ cup butter

1 eight-ounce container of peach-flavored yogurt
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 2/3 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 350F.

Bring butter to room temperature then mix well with sugar. Slowly beat in both eggs. In a separate bowl, mix flour with salt and baking soda. In another bowl or in the container of yogurt, mix in the baking powder and watch the bubbles happen. Add the yogurt mixture to the butter and sugar, then blend in flour mixture for one minute until batter is smooth. Add vanilla and blend well. Pour into square pan that has been buttered or sprayed with cooking spray. Bake for 35-40 minutes. Cool. Serve topped with fresh sliced peaches and whipped cream.
