2020 Summer Camps – Leadership

Kids and teens will learn social and emotional skills, mentor younger children or become experts in civics and citizenship at these summer day camps.

Camp O’Connor
Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law
Grades 7-8

Camp O’Connor is a free, merit-based summer program for middle school students with a mission to educate, encourage and inspire the next generation of leaders. Participants gain a deeper, experiential understanding of our nation’s democracy, branches of government, and the duties and responsibilities of citizenship.

May 22, 2020 update: Camp O’Connor Phoenix and Denver have been postponed to 2021. In lieu of an in-person camp, this year the Sandra Day O’Connor Institute is launching the Camp O’Connor Civics Challenge, a video competition with the chance to win prizes.

Grades 7-12

The Leadership Society of Arizona (LSA) has created a fun and interactive virtual leadership camp that teaches students how to be successful, happy, and productive. Students will meet for a one-hour class four days a week for four weeks in a state-of-the-art virtual ballroom. Students will work in small groups for discussion and activities — making this an experience unlike any other virtual platform schools are using. Students can also complete up to 20 hours of self-paced online courses (footage from live lectures and ASU courses).

Each week, students get a 30-minute virtual mentoring session with an LSA coach. Coaches are industry-certified leadership development experts. Students will learn to set goals, apply leadership concepts, overcome challenges, and create more productive and enriching summer habits.

This program is a $650 value, but due to COVID-19, LSA is offering it for $350. Receive a $25 discount when you use the promocode RAK20.
