Disney Channel star Laura Marano (of “Austin & Ally” fame) is co-hosting the Childhelp Wings Fashion Show Luncheon along with ABC 15 Arizona’s Nick Ciletti on Sunday, April 28, at the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia.
“I started working with Childhelp late last year, and I found myself so drawn to helping these children — children who have seen and been through such darkness that is absolutely unacceptable,” says Marano, who is busy working on a CBS pilot and a movie role. “Childhelp fights to show them the light, and I want to be a part of that any way I can.”
Marano says she’s particularly impressed with the creative therapies Childhelp uses to ease children’s pain, including programs that connect them with animals.
The 10 a.m. show will feature fashions courtesy of Dillard’s, Alice and Olivia, and BabyLux, plus a live and silent auction. The Childhelp Children’s Center of Arizona Dedicated to Linda Pope serves more than 600 abused and neglected children each month, providing treatment, intervention and investigation services in a child-centric environment.
