The Arizona Diamondbacks kick off their home opener against the Boston Red Sox on Friday, April 5 with a pre-game fiesta. The game also kicks off the 2019 season’s promotions and giveaways, which include a Star Wars Night, an Archie Bradley Bobble Gnome giveaway, a Mother’s Day Diamondbacks Charm Necklace and more.
The Opening Day Street Festival starts at noon Friday, April 5, in front of the Gila River Hotels & Casinos Plaza at Fourth and Jackson streets with food trucks, D-backs inflatables, music by JJ’s Band and activities. D-backs pitcher Taijuan Walker will be giving fans tacos featuring his special recipe; in lieu of payment, fans are encouraged to donate to Arizona Helping Hands, a local nonprofit helping kids in foster care.

The 2019 season also brings some new food items to Chase Field. Baseball fans will be able to try a fry bread taco, a vegan burger and a Big Jalapeño Popper Dog — a foot-long hot dog topped with roasted jalapeño cream cheese, bacon, fried jalapeños and onions.
